Dr. Ryan Cohen is a dedicated and accomplished general surgeon, fellowship-trained in Advanced Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery. He is committed to delivering high-quality patient care characterized by his excellent bedside manner, precision, and advanced technical skills.
Dr. Cohen specializes in a variety of procedures, including peri-operative endoscopy, gastric sleeve, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, as well as revisional and conversion surgeries for patients who have previously undergone bariatric operations. Dr. Cohen earned his Medical Doctorate from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Einstein Medical Center, where he was honored with the Outstanding Resident Educator Award and the Outstanding Chief Resident Award.
To further advance his expertise, he pursued a fellowship in Advanced Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center, where he trained extensively in advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy, and robotic surgery. His education and credentials highlight his dedication to providing the most advanced and effective surgical care for his patients.

Dr. Konecny obtained his medical degree (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA in July 1991. He underwent his undergraduate studies at the University of California Irvine, CA majoring in biology. Dr. Konecny completed 3 years of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ in June 1999. He served as a general surgery resident in Peninsula Hospital Center in Far Rockaway, NY (chief resident for 2 years) after a year of rotating internship at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, CA.
An expert in the field of hyperhidrosis and a master of Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETC), Dr. Konecny has performed over thousands of ETS procedures for sweaty palms. He has given lectures and demonstrated his superb techniques at national and international conferences.
